About Us

A proud family-run business with a reputation built on trust, quality and decades of hands-on experience.

Who we are

The same family, on site, from survey to sign-off

UK Mezzanine Direct is a family business. That is not a line on a website — it is the reason the person who measures your unit is the person who draws it, and usually the person you find welding in it a few weeks later.

Most mezzanine work in this country gets carved up between a salesman, a designer, a steel supplier and a gang of fitters who have never spoken to each other. When something does not line up, everyone points at the last person to touch it. We kept the whole thing in house specifically so there is nobody left to point at.

We build mezzanine floors, storage systems, suspended ceilings and office partitions for commercial spaces across the UK — fast, affordable and made to fit the building you have, not the one the catalogue assumes you have.

How we work

Four things we will not budge on

No handovers

Survey, design, fabrication, delivery and install are all ours. One number to ring, and the person who answers it knows your job.

Honest pricing

A written price that holds. If something changes on site we tell you before we do it, not on the final invoice.

Built to be safe

Edge protection, gates, stair nosings and loading limits are part of the job, not an upsell we hope you forget to ask about.

Reclaimed first

If good second-life steel does the job, that is what we quote — and you will know exactly what you are getting.

Reclaimed racking frames and beams stored ready to be graded and reused

Our mission

Good steel should go back to work, not to the weighbridge

Steel is one of the few building materials that genuinely does not degrade in normal use. A section that held a floor up for twenty years will hold one up for another forty. Yet perfectly sound mezzanines and racking runs get cut up for scrap every week, and a mill somewhere melts new steel to replace them.

We buy those systems, strip them out ourselves, grade what is worth keeping and build it back into working floors. It lands cheaper for the customer and it takes a genuine bite out of the carbon attached to the job. That is the whole argument for reclaimed, and we think it is a good one.

  • Reclaimed steel offered wherever the design and loading allow it
  • New steel specified openly when the job needs it
  • Dismantling and buy-back for sites being cleared or downsized
  • Less waste to landfill, and shorter lead times than a mill order

Who you will speak to

Paul Dalling

Director

Paul runs the business and answers the phone. He will come out and survey your unit himself, tell you honestly whether a mezzanine is the right answer for it, and give you a straight price with no sales script attached.

If he thinks you would be better off re-laying your racking than buying a floor, he will tell you that too. It has cost us jobs and won us customers.

The details

Practical answers

Where are you based, and how far do you travel?
We are based in Swansea and we work UK-wide — London, Derby, anywhere the job is. Send us a postcode and the rough size of the space and we will tell you straight away whether we can get to you.
How long have you been doing this?
Decades. Between us we have surveyed, drawn, welded and fitted every part of what we sell, which is not something every mezzanine company can say — plenty of them have never picked up a welding torch.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. A single staircase, a run of handrail, twenty bays of racking or a partition wall are all worth a phone call. Not everything needs to be a full floor.
